Louvre

Yesterday I got lost in Paris. I vaguely headed in the direction of the Musée D'Orsay and ended up at the Louvre. Turning down this street and that whenever it seemed like the right time. I walked through streets with stores so expensive I felt rich just being fortunate enough to walk by them.
The Louvre architecture is breath-taking. Walking up to the building is nice, pretty much the same as all the other amazing architecture in Paris. When I passed under the arches though I became intoxicated. Paris's streets are so small that when you walk by something beautiful it is hard to appreciate its entirety; Walking in to the grounds of the Louvre, this is not the case.

Nike- I was so excited to see her! I didn't see her right away because there are a few staircases before you get there. I was moesying around trying to figure out which way to go and there she was at the top of the stairs, like an angel. She was always my favorite work of art from art history and there is something magical about seeing something so inspiring in person. So, there I was, a little week in the knees staring at Nike in the Louvre. I find it so amazing that something that beautiful was just found and no one knew where it came from. That sculpture is loved only because of how amazing it is not because of who made it. She made it on her own. Discovered because of chance and loved for being herself, not where she came from.

Alright well that is my bit of Cheese (nothing really to wine about) for the evening.
